Terms of Use & Policies

Members and guests of the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce are encouraged to familiarize themselves with our Health & Safety Protocols, Website Terms of Use, Disclaimer of Endorsement, Privacy Policy, and Photo/Event Policy.

Membership Terms & Conditions

1) Membership Term. Membership in the Chamber is on a rolling calendar based on the original join date.

2) Membership Applications. Membership applications are subject to approval. A $25.00 fee will be assessed for insufficient funds or declined credit card transactions.

Payments can be made in cash, check or credit card. Monthly memberships are only accepted by recurring credit card transaction.

3) Renewal. The membership will be automatically renewed on the anniversary date coinciding one year from the original join date on an annual basis unless the Chamber is notified in writing. For annual memberships, membership renewal invoices are sent via email as an attached PDF file. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure membership does not expire or lapse. A paper invoice will be sent once your 1st electronic invoice becomes late.For monthly memberships, the renewal will continue to be assessed to the credit card on file. Any notifications to cancel the membership after the due date of the membership dues will be prorated up to the date of the cancellation notice in writing.

4) Renewal Amount. Membership fees/renewal fees may increase for annual or monthly memberships. In the case of membership renewal, any membership dues amendments will be reflected in the renewal notice or anniversary date for monthly memberships. A member wishing to increase or decrease the level of membership may do so by paying the corresponding amount at the time of renewal with consideration of the tiered dues and employee count. If a member employee count has changed by the renewal period, the member will inform the Chamber, if a different tier membership level is applicable.

5) Membership Lapse. A member who fails to remit payment of renewal membership dues as specified in the foregoing paragraphs and according to the due date is subject to be dropped if the renewal payment is not received by the due date. Failure to pay the membership dues by the due date can cause a member to lose all benefits of membership immediately.6) Membership Benefits. Membership benefits are available to members in good standing. Any past due member will not be eligible for membership benefits until the account is brought current.

7) Monthly Members. A credit card is required to be maintained on file for monthly membership subscriptions. Failure to maintain an active credit card on file may result in the membership being dropped. A $25.00 fee will be assessed for insufficient funds or declined credit card transactions, per transaction, and is invoiced to the member, plus any late payment terms that may apply.

In addition, members agree to the following:

Confirm that you are the owner/manager/authorized representative of the business or organization with authority to enter into agreements on behalf of the entity.
Agree to abide by the Chamber's Standards of Business Conduct & Ethics*.
Reviewed the Chamber's Privacy Policy and Website Terms & Conditions*.
Authorize the Chamber to publish member business name and owner/representative name and photo and/or entity information in the Chamber's newsletter, online directory, print directory and other publications.
Opt into the Chamber's SMS texting system. Members may opt-out by replying "Stop" to any text.

Health & Safety Protocols

The health and safety of attendees is our highest concern. The Chamber is committed to a safe and enjoyable in-person event experience for all attendees. With the current state of the pandemic, the Chamber continues to monitor the most recent health guidelines from public health agencies.

The Chamber has implemented the following protocols:

We ask all attendees to be fully vaccinated. The Chamber reserves the right to ask attendees to provide proof of vaccination OR show a negative COVID-19 test result in the past 72 hours upon arriving at the event. The attendee will provide a physical or digital proof of vaccination or test at registration.

All event attendees should be diligent in following all CDC guidelines. If an individual is feeling sick, please stay home.

Masks are welcome at the Chamber, but no longer required. We encourage you to make the choice that best meets your safety needs.

If you feel more comfortable and choose to wear a mask, we respect your decision to do so. Event attendees will respect others who opt to wear a mask.

The Chamber will provide hand sanitizer onsite as well as masks if needed.

Waiver of Liability and Disclaimer:

By registering for any events, attendees are willingly participating in a Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce in-person event, and hereby waive, release, absolve, indemnify and agree to hold harmless the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, their Board of Directors, employees, contractors, organizers, supervisors, participants, and persons for any claim arising out of any injury or illness you may incur as a result of negligence or for any other cause. By participating in a program or event during the COVID-19 pandemic, while still following the guidelines outlined by the State of Texas, event attendees understand there is still a chance of contracting the virus that causes COVID-19. Furthermore, attendees understand that there is a chance of spreading the coronavirus while asymptomatic.

The publication of advertisements on any Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce-owned site does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee by the Chamber, its members, associates or staff of the quality or value of the advertised services or products or of the claims made for such services or products.

Photo Policy

Meeting & Event Photo Policy

The Greater Houston Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer + (LGBTQ+) Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber) meetings, programs, and events (events) are generally open to all Members and registered guests, including staff and volunteers.

By attending events you acknowledge and agree to grant Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber Foundation, organizations affiliated with the Chamber, and authorized representatives the right to record, film, photograph, or capture your likeness in any media now available or hereafter developed and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise disseminate without restriction, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval from you or any payment to you. This grant to the Chamber and its affiliated organizations includes, but is not limited to, the right to edit such media, the right to use the media alone or together with other information, and the right to allow others to use or disseminate the media.

The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce captures photos/videos at all of our events for educational and marketing purposes in including on our social media platforms and website. By registering for any Chamber event, you have granted permission for our use of these images. If you do not wish to have your photograph used, please contact the Chamber at 832-510-3002, or notify the onsite event organizers.

Individuals may request to have photos of themselves removed from Chamber publications and communication channels by contacting the Chamber office at 832-510-3002. However, the Chamber acknowledges no obligation to comply.

General Statement of Privacy

The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce respects the privacy of its members and of those who visit this site. Subject to the provisions of applicable laws, any information you submit to the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce will not be used in any manner to which you have not consented. While the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber does analyze its website logs to monitor the flow of traffic and make improvements to the site’s content, its website logs are not personally identifiable, and no attempt to link them to individual visitors to this site is made.

Personally Identifiable Information

We do not collect Personally Identifiable Information about you on the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber website without your knowledge or action. Your information is collected through the membership registration form, e-mail newsletter registration, and/or event registration forms.
