Ribbon Cuttings
Showcase your new business or celebrate your grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony! The events are an opportunity to welcome Chamber members, community leaders, and the public to your business or organization. A ribbon cutting ceremony can be an important part of your overall marketing plan, as it creates awareness of the products or services that you offer. Supporting members who are undergoing change or growth is a traditional component of the Chamber experience and something the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce is proud to champion.
Eligibility
- Grand Opening - new business (within the past year)
- New Location or franchise
- Milestone Anniversary - celebrating a milestone business anniversary or event (e.g., millionth customer designation, 10 years or more)
- New Owner - reopening a business under new management or after a devastating event (e.g., fire)
- Ground breaking
- Renovation/Expansion
- Other circumstances on a case-by-case basis
Ribbon Cutting Options
The Chamber offers various ribbon cutting options to members. Pre-registration with the Chamber is required at least 90 days in advance. Please review the Chamber's event calendar when requesting your date.
OPTION 1: EXISTING CHAMBER EVENT
The Ribbon Cutting is part of a Chamber monthly event,(i) and Event sponsorship is required.
President’s Circle & Executive Level members: No ribbon cutting fee + cost of event sponsorship*
Signature Level, Business Premium, Business Plus & Business Connect members: $350.00 ribbon cutting fee + cost of event sponsorship
The Chamber will organize the event and promote the ribbon cutting. Member business will receive event sponsorship recognition and advertisement of ribbon cutting. In addition, the Chamber will provide an event photographer and share ribbon cutting photos via a social media photo album. Member businesses will invite guests to participate and promote the event.
Note: This option is subject to Chamber availability based on the Chamber's event calendar.
OPTION 2: STAND ALONE EVENT
The Ribbon Cutting Event will be a stand-alone event not associated with an existing Chamber event.
President’s Circle & Executive Level members: No ribbon cutting fee*
Signature Level, Business Premium, Business Plus & Business Connect members: $500.00 ribbon cutting fee
The Chamber will promote the ribbon cutting event to members through the event calendar, newsletter and social media and prepare the ribbon cutting program. In addition, the Chamber will provide an event photographer and share ribbon cutting photos via a social media photo album. Member businesses will will handle all event logistics and refreshments, promote the event, and invite guests.
OPTION 3: "SIDE EVENT"
The Ribbon Cutting Event will be held as a “side-event,” taking place before or after a monthly Chamber event. This is a good option for members that do not have a physical office.

Business Premium, Business Plus & Business Connect members: $350.00 ribbon cutting fee
The Chamber will provide an event photographer and share ribbon cutting photos via a social media photo album. Chamber may also promote the event as part of the existing event.*
The Chamber charges a fee (depending on membership level) to help organize a ribbon cutting ceremony. This is in addition to any hospitality costs incurred by the member company such as food and beverage. Fees are based on ribbon cuttings within a 50-mile radius of the Chamber mailing address. Additional fees may be required beyond a 50-mile radius. Please contact the Chamber with any questions.
